Abstract

The study focused on reinforcement model establishment for peanut supply chain as one of potential exporting commodity due to the threat of global trade liberalization. As one of main peanut producer area, however, Bangkalan Regency has poor management along the chain with various problems internally and externally. The research involved primary data through both observation and in depth interview of several key informants at main producer area in Bangkalan Regency such as head of farmer groups, extension workers and local leaders. The strategic model analyzed by using SWOT analysis had resultedturn around strategy that emphasize consolidation and improvement of weaknesses while catching opportunities. Improvement of weaknesses strategies can be done by involving farmers into local base institution such as farmer group and cooperative group, providing farmers the literacy program, educating farmer on digital equipments for e-market preparation, and empowering micro scale business of peanut base material. Next, the opportunities considered to be taken are embracing middleman as partner, building peanut industry, distributing infrastructure improvement to remote agricultural area, providing information by having partnership with vendor such as XL and Telkomsel, and assisting farmer’s marketing institution in the operation. Keywords: supply chain, SWOT, reinforcement, empowering, communication(1) Department of Agribusiness, Trunojoyo University, Madura, Indonesia* Corresponding Author https://doi.org/10.21632/irjbs.12.1.55-68

Abstract

Gender equality is one of the most important issues in the labor market. In this paper, we want to observe the level of gender equality in Indonesia’s labor market. One of the ways to do this is to estimate the relationship between gender and salary. We obtained a sample size of 1404 white-collar Indonesian employees, which consists of several variables such as salary, gender, age, education level, university, experience, job role, managerial role, and company size. We estimated the relationship using Ordinary Least Squares and Blinder Oaxaca Decomposition, and conclude that in general, gender has no significant impact on salary after holding all other variables constant. However, when we subset the data set to only young workers, we found evidence of salary-based discrimination towards young women in Indonesia’s labor market. Keywords: gender equality, gender pay-gap, Indonesia, labor economics(1) Faculty of Economics and Business, Atma Jaya Catholic University, Jakarta, Indonesia* Corresponding Author https://doi.org/10.21632/irjbs.12.1.69-86

Abstract

This paper investigates to what extent Oil and Gas (O&G) companies in Pakistan report on environmental protection activities. Using a content analysis approach, environmental reporting (ER) in 13 companies’ annual reports and websites are investigated over a five year period (2010-2014) following the guidelines issued by Securities Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP). Results reveal that the majority of the companies were found to have a low level of ER. However, since the introduction of SECP’s voluntary guidelines, the level of ER increased during the sample study period. Companies that issued a stand-alone report were found to have higher levels of disclosure on their environmental protection practices. This study recommends that management engages with internal and external stakeholders with their environmental management practices. The results may also be beneficial to the government as they provide reporting guidance and stock exchange regulations regarding the obligatory dissemination of environment-related information. Keywords: Environmental reporting, Oil & Gas Industry of Pakistan, Content Analysis(1,2) School of Business and Enterprise, University of the West of Scotland, United Kingdom* Corresponding Author https://doi.org/10.21632/irjbs.12.1.15-29

Abstract

This study tried to identified the market and the rental value of Grha Z as one of the local assets in Province A. This study used cost approach and income approach in valuation to obtain rental value and Net Present Value (NPV) of the building, the construction cost of a new Grha Z building, management office, home generator, and warehouse. Because of the limited information, this study valuates the asset asymmetrically. The result of the calculation produces the value of assets, taxable value assets as the basis for calculating the value of the rental assets according to Minister of Finance (MoF) Regulation 33/2012. The results showed that the rental value of local assets such as land and buildings in the area Grha Z can be increased by Regulation of Indonesian MoF Number 33/2012. It can be used as a materialconsideration in the improvement of regional asset rental agreement. Keywords: rental value, income approach, cost approach, local asset(1) Fakultas Ekonomika dan Bisnis Magister Ekonomika Pembangunan, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia(2) Fakultas Ekonomika dan Bisnis, Universitas Gadjah Mada, Indonesia(3) Fakultas Ekonomi dan Bisnis, Universitas Ahmad Dahlan Yogyakarta, Indonesia(4) Fakultas Ekonomi, Universitas Negeri Malang, Indonesia* Corresponding Author https://doi.org/10.21632/irjbs.12.1.31-39
